3 past Colt historians - Ron Wagner, Kathleen Hoyt, and Martin S Huber

Kathleen J. Hoyt was born in Hartford, Connecticut, in 1947. Her grandparents were immigrants; coming from Ireland and Poland. She is a third generation Colt employee with 44 years of service. Her grandfather, father, uncle and two brothers also worked for the Colt factory. The Guinan family has over 130 years of service - a remarkable feat and likely not seen again.

Kathy's career at Colt began in the Product Service Department reporting to Al De John. Colt's engraving department was part of Product Service at that time. She spent 20 years with Product Service and the Custom Gun Shop. Thirteen of those years she held the position of Custom Shop Administrative Supervisor. She spent three years as Assistant Customer Service Supervisor.

Kathy became Colt's Historian in 1988 and Martin S. Huber was awarded the title of Historian Emeritus.

She is a member of the Connecticut Antiquarian and Landmark Society, the Colt Collectors Association, a life member of the National Rifle Association and is one of the founding directors of the Elizabeth Colt Legacy Foundation.

Kathy and her husband, Dave, reside in West Hartford.
